Why did you let me in?

You pushed me out into the night
And there was no shelter

The rain had turned to ice
And did sting my flesh with cruel bites

I saw no road, no path, no way to go
In the middle of the night
Only darkness

All through the night I could not take one step
Could not walk away as I did not see

And I pressed my body against the walls of our house
To stand close to the roof to get a bit of shelter

Shivering and freezing I stood there until the morning came
Until the sun did warm me and point a way

Why did you throw me out in the middle of the night?
Why did you throw me out when I had nowhere to go?

Why did you ever let me in?

About blue

I am a divorced single mum to a teenage kid, and at present re-emigrating to my homecountry Germany. Writing helps me to clear my thoughts, but as well to turn sadness, fear, and regret into something beautiful and release it from my heart.
